The World Indigenous Television Broadcasters Conference was held in Kautokeino, Norway this year, and journalists from member broadcasters around the world got the chance to see life as it was for the Sami people of northern Europe.
They also had the opportunity to share their stories, see the work being done by their colleagues, and recognize the importance of telling indigenous stories with indigenous voices.
APTN National News reporter Rob Smith was at the conference, and saw just how similar those indigenous stories are, even across international borders.
