Four charged in 2020 disappearance of Megan Gallagher

Supporters of the Gallagher family in Saskatoon are applauding people for doing the right thing.

Brian Gallagher, father of Megan Gallagher, is now hoping one or all of the accused will reveal the location of his daughter’s remains.

“Thank you for breaking the silence,” Brian told reporters. “We’ve talked about the silence forever and ever as long as this has been going on, and it is the big thing that is really doing the most damage to us and to a number of other families.

“It is literally the big thing that is killing us.”

Brian made the comments outside court in Saskatoon where one of four suspects made an appearance via video. John Wayne Sanderson, 44, was arrested after an apparent tip from the public.

Also accused are Roderick William Sutherland, 44, Jessica Sutherland, 42, and Ernest Whitehead, 41.

The four are charged with offering indignity to human remains. RCMP and Saskatoon police have not explained why they laid that charge as part of their joint homicide investigation.

Megan was last seen in Saskatoon on security footage in 2020.
