The former regional chief of the Assembly of First Nations in British Columbia has won the riding of Vancouver-Granville for the Liberals.

Jody Wilson-Raybould is now riding a Liberal majority wave to Ottawa where the party will take command of Parliament.

The Liberals went from third place in the House of Commons to being in power.

Wilson-Raybould’s boss Justin Trudeau has made some big promises to First Nation, Metis and Inuit people over the course of the historic 78 day campaign.

Trudeau said during his victory speech that he is ready to start a new relationship.
