First Nations female pilot, operators of cultural museum win Yukon innovation awards


Inductees into the innovative hub called Yukonstruct – Hall of Innovators – include Champagne and Aishihik First Nations (CAFN) citizen Shadunjen van Kampen, the first Indigenous woman in Yukon to earn her single-engine commercial pilot license.

Also included is Little Salmon/Carmacks member Meta Williams, who co-owns interpretive camp and traditional museum Kwaday dun Kenji (Long Ago Peoples Place) with her partner and CAFN citizen Harold Johnson.
