Federal government defends itself at the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal

Parties at the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal are asking the commissioners for “immediate relief” for remote communities where child welfare agencies are struggling to keep up.

The tribunal is into its second day of hearings where the government is expected to try and defend its non-compliance of an order from the quasi-judicial panel to stop discriminating against First Nations children.
