Elders in Calgary will soon have sacred place to call home

A federal-provincial program aimed at building affordable housing for Indigenous people will soon be opening a lodge for Elders.

Shovels are in the ground and construction is in full swing at the city’s first Indigenous Elder’s Lodge.

The project is a collaboration between the federal and provincial governments along with Calgary’s Aboriginal Friendship Centre.

Elders were also involved in the process.
