Edmonton Police Service to tackle violence with new techniques

The city of Edmonton could be facing its record 46th homicide in 2011, pending the results of an autopsy.

According to the Edmonton Police Service, robbery and auto theft are declining in the Alberta capital, but cases of sexual assault and homicide are on the rise.
Superintendent Brad Ward says that the EPS’s strategy for tackling the problem will involve “addressing social factors that have led to the violent crime.”
