Conservationist: changes to Fisheries Act are “a bit of a dirty trick”

Conservationist and biologist Otto Langer has thirty years of experience working for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, and he says that planned changes to the Fisheries Act will endanger the health of B.C. fish resources.

Specifically, it comes down to one word: “habitat”.

APTN National News reporter Rob Smith spoke to Langer about the coming changes and the potential for public input.

    Now that the cat is out of the bag on what the government intends, they will probably pull back at this time. But we must hammer them as hard as we can now, and be vigilant for other attempts at dirty tricks in the future.  They have now established their game plan, so we must be looking for the worst from now on.
