Chief electoral officer regrets breakdown at the polls in Kenora riding and apologizes


Voter suppression and disenfranchisement – those were some of the terms being used in relation to various situations affecting Indigenous voters in the federal riding of Kenora this past election.

On election day, polling stations were not set up in a number of First Nations in the northern Ontario riding.

A post-mortem on the election, by chief electoral officer, Stephane Perrault, will be tabled in parliament on January 31.
