The Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations caused quite a stir when it sent out a release denouncing the Assembly of First Nations’ education panel.
The panel was set up to examine the education system in First Nations communities.
But chiefs in three provinces are turning their backs on it saying they fear this is Ottawa’s way of taking control of education.
AFN National Chief Shawn Atleo endorsed the panel and he spoke to APTN from his home in British Columbia.
