The family of a Winnipeg First Nations man who died after a 34-hour wait in a city hospital is now outrage after a provincial official had a change of heart.

In February 2009, provincial Ombudsman Irene Hamilton stated there was no reason why the family of Brian Sinclair, a double amputee, could not access all hospital records related to the inquiry into Sinclair’s death.

Now the ombudsman says the records cannot be released.
