Anishinaabe play to be livestreamed on Indigenous Peoples Day

An Anishinaabe-written, one-person play will be livestreamed to 14 schools across Alberta on Indigenous Peoples Day, June 21.

The tale of young Rocko and his grandfather, Nakoda, is the brainchild of First Nations playwright and actor Josh Languedoc.

Languedoc has been touring the play across Canada for two years.

“It’s my solo show. I play about 12 different characters and the story is about a very anxious boy’s journey back into finding internal strength.”

The story is expected to reach an estimated 3,000 students.

It will be livestreamed on The Thousand Faces Festival Facebook page at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. MT.
