Akwesasne Mohawk territory is a unique place for many reasons. Here the borders of Ontario, Quebec and New York State intersect.

Crossing an international border is a daily fact of life and being able to do so without minimal hindrance is a treaty right.

According to many Akwesasne residents, however, harassment and delays at the border are increasing. On Friday, the Mohawk Nation Longhouse staged a protest and over 200 people crossed the frontier to deliver a message to the Canada Border Services Agency.

  2. I heard that Kilger used to get his booze without paying the duty from his old friends at Akwesasne .No one wants to listen to him either. Get rid of the elected band council and things may change. I heard that Kilger is also being sued by a taxpayer in Cornwall. What is he trying to hide?
