The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) kicked off a special assembly in Gatineau, Que., to discuss upcoming federal legislation and the rights that need to be included before any law is passed.

Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer and NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh addressed the Assembly Tuesday afternoon.
