A supreme victory, an emergency debate and setting the Algonquin land claim straight on the April 14 edition of N2N

Gabriel Daniels, the political panel and Chief Kirby Whiteduck on the April 14 edition of N2N

Nation to Nation
The first court case took place in 1999 and it took until 2016 to end it.

But the case that the late Harry Daniels started is now over and the Supreme Court of Canada has ruled that Métis and non-status Indians have the same rights has status Indians. Gabriel Daniels is Harry’s son. He knew what this case meant to his father. He tells N2N guest host Jorge Barrera what the victory means to him.

The political panel with NDP’s Charlie Angus and Cathy McLeod of the Conservative party talk about the emergency debate in the House of Commons over the crisis many First Nation communities find themselves in.

And Pikwakanagan First Nation Chief Kirby Whiteduck talks about the Algonquin’s modern day treaty and the issues that may effect it down the road.
