New Montreal justice centre aims to fill gaps in system for Indigenous offenders

The group’s first goal is to convince the city to start providing Indigenous offenders with alternatives to prison

There are provisions in the Canadian legal system that take into account the harsh realities of many Indigenous offenders.

But in Montreal, they’re not always being implemented.

Now, a new organization is looking to change that, and more.
