AFN, federal government launch First Nations education panel

AFN National Chief Shawn Atleo and Minister of Aboriginal Affairs John Duncan launched the National Panel on First Nations Education in Ottawa, in conjunction with National Aboriginal Solidarity Day.

The panel consists of Scott Haldane, president of YMCA Canada; George LaFond, former president of the Saskatoon Tribal Council; and Caroline Krause, an Aboriginal educator who’s worked with the Vancouver School Board.

APTN National News reporter Annette Francis attended the launch in Ottawa.
